Building Our Culture
Building a culture for success in youth soccer means focusing on both skill development and character growth, teaching players the value of hard work, discipline, and respect. By creating an environment that encourages continuous learning, teamwork, and leadership, we help players excel not only on the field but in all areas of life. With focus on both personal and athletic development, our goal is to prepare confident and well-rounded players who can succeed in any challenge, on and off the field.
Coaching & Player Development
At Founders FC, our club is dedicated to providing quality coaching to nurture and develop talented players who possess a deep passion and commitment to soccer. We carefully select athletes who demonstrate both skill and a genuine love for the game, creating a dynamic and driven team environment. Through our dedicated coaching staff and a focus on player development, we aim to cultivate the skills, character, leadership, and competitive spirit necessary for success both on and off the field.
Founders FC coaches and staff are trained under US Soccer and Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) licensing program(s), with significant experience in both playing and coaching.

Travel Soccer
Our youth travel soccer program offers young athletes the opportunity to compete at a higher level, facing teams from different regions and improving their skills through competitive play. Our program emphasizes both individual development and teamwork, helping players grow in technical ability, tactical understanding, and sportsmanship. With a focus on fostering a love for the game, our program builds confidence and provides mentorship, preparing athletes for future challenges.

Our travel soccer teams play in the Elite Development Program (EDP). EDP is a premier competitive league in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.

We are here to support our community by providing young athletes with additional options and opportunities for quality training and competitive play. We are a small youth soccer Club and we are proud to be completely transparent and focused on your player’s success.
Building our athletics programs requires careful planning, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellence. By providing young athletes with top-tier coaching, resources, and opportunities, our programs can help them reach their full potential and achieve their goals in sports and beyond. Tournament Play
Our travel soccer teams play in multiple Tournaments every season. Youth travel soccer tournaments provide players with shared experiences, from intense competition to downtime between games, allowing them to bond through both victories and challenges. The time spent traveling, staying in hotels, and supporting each other on and off the field strengthens friendships as players form lasting memories together. These unique, team-focused experiences build camaraderie and trust, creating connections that extend beyond the tournament and the sport itself.
Program Details
Our youth travel soccer program offers competitive league and tournament play. We focus on player development and building a cohesive and competitive team with specialized training, tournaments, and league play (EDP) throughout the season. Here are some highlights of our program:
Our travel teams play in the Elite Development Program (EDP).
Our teams enter 3-5 tournaments a year on average.
Our full year program runs fall, winter (training & optional futsal), and spring seasons.
Teams practice 2-3 times per week at locations in St. Mary’s County.
Supplemental training sessions for specialized skills development may be offered.
Continuity and retention of players for each team is our top priority. Our players learn and grow as a team throughout their development and progression at Founders FC. WE BUILD TEAMS AT FOUNDERS FC
All coaches are certified by Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA).
Parents are required to sign/accept waivers for their athlete prior to participation.
Costs
Our fee structure is simplistic in nature. At Founders FC, we leverage our non-profit organization, Founders Athletics, to lower athletics fees wherever possible. Our organization doesn’t pad our fee structure and we take pride in being completely transparent with a focus on keeping competitive soccer affordable. We DO NOT subscribe to the "pay to play" model for youth travel sports which is why our full season fees can be offered significantly lower than the regional norm. Player total cost fees are broken down into the following for the 2024-25 full year season:
Club Fees [$65 Billed When Accepting Position]: Includes insurance, marketing & materials, resource & affiliate registration, government, website, and non-profit related fees.
Player Fees [$485 Billed When Accepting Position]: Includes USYS travel player registration, equipment, and other related fees.
Jersey Kit [$188 Billed When Ordering Jersey Kit]: Jersey kit for players includes home, away, and practice kits and a track jacket.
Tournament Fees [Billed Per Tournament Registration, Per Team]: Entry for tournaments can vary significantly depending on the tournament. The per player cost for each tournament is calculated based on the tournament entry fee and the total number of players attending minus any sponsor/partner donations that can be leveraged to offset the cost by the Club. Travel and/or hotel costs associated with each tournament are not covered by Founders FC and are the responsibility of the athlete’s parent to make necessary arrangements. Player tournament fees will not be collected until entry is secured.

Since our mission, first and foremost, is to promote youth athletics development within our community at an affordable cost, we have established and made resources available to those players and their families who may need monetary support to participate. FOUNDERS ACADEMY
Academy Soccer
Our youth soccer academy provides a dynamic environment focused on developing both technical skills and a love for the game. Through supplemental training, we offer players additional opportunities to enhance their abilities, building on their strengths and addressing areas for growth. Our mission is to nurture well-rounded athletes by fostering teamwork, discipline, and a passion for soccer. Our program is space limited and offered only for the U6-U9 ages (boys and girls).
Comprehensive Player Development Focus on both technical skills and tactical understanding, while also building physical fitness, mental resilience, and soccer IQ.
Qualified Coaching Staff Experienced coaches who can teach, mentor, and inspire players at all development levels.
Age-Appropriate Training Tailored training programs that match players' developmental stages, ensuring gradual progression in skills and understanding.
Focus on Character Building We emphasize focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
Pathway to Higher Levels Clear opportunities for progression, such as moving to competitive travel teams.

Program Details
Our youth academy soccer program is designed to build a solid foundation of technical and tactical skills for your player.
Our program is space limited and offered only for the U7-U9 ages (boys and girls). Initial tryouts to fill team(s) are in May/June, however, supplemental evaluations are always open. Contact us if your player is interested (even mid-season).
Building the fundamentals is the key to your player’s success and our coaches ensure both technical and tactical development is the standard at every practice.
