Club Mission
Our mission is to develop young athletes into skilled and confident soccer players while instilling values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. We aim to create a positive and competitive environment where our young athletes can thrive. Through quality coaching, dedication, mentorship, and a commitment to player development, we strive to inspire a lifelong passion for soccer and foster the next generation of young athletes.
Program Details
Our Future Founders junior player development soccer academy offers players the opportunity for early skill development and refinement which will give them the advantage they need to grow into competitive soccer. We focus on the fundamental building blocks for a young soccer player to succeed and grow in soccer. Here are some basic highlights of our program:
>> Our program is unique in the fact that it is supported by our certified and knowledgeable Founders FC Travel Coaches. Their mission is to provide quality coaching and skill development opportunities to the young academy players so that they can grow and further their love of the sport.
>> Our Founders FC travel coaches provide a fun, developmental, and unique method that focusses on technical fundamentals of ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling, and shooting.
>> Kids at this age have an immense ability to learn and our academy program provides the fundamental technical skills as well as the basis for tactical teamwork skills in order to facilitate their future success.
>> Our seasonal academy program runs in the Spring and Fall each year and is very limited in capacity. This means that the academy selections may be competitive in nature. We do not hold formal tryouts for our academy. However, because our academy is limited in roster capacity, our Coaches do make a final selection of which players make the academy roster if we are over capacity. We run an initial open play day for all registered kids to come enjoy a few hours of soccer with the Coaches. If registration numbers are beyond the capacity of our academy roster, you will be notified prior to the play day that Coaches will be making academy selections after the play day.
>> Practices will be dictated by the academy Head Coach and will be either be once a week for 1.5 hours or 2 times per week for 1 hr. Practice locations will be in Wildewood or Leonardtown (St. Mary’s County).
>> Scheduled breaks are strategically placed around holidays, summer, and other major events.
>> All coaches and staff are background checked by St. Mary's Rec and Parks and USYS.
>> All parents are required to sign our Waiver and Release of Liability form for their athletes prior to any participation in Club activities.
Coaches & Players
At Founders FC, our club is dedicated to providing quality coaching to nurture and develop talented players who possess a deep passion and commitment to soccer. We carefully select athletes who demonstrate both skill and a genuine love for the game, creating a dynamic and driven team environment. Through our dedicated coaching staff and a focus on player development, we aim to cultivate the skills, character, leadership, and competitive spirit necessary for success both on and off the field.
Founders FC coaches and staff are trained under US Soccer and Grass Roots program(s) and have significant experience in both playing and coaching soccer which range from semi-pro play, US Navy soccer team play, and many years of recreational coaching.
Costs
Our fee structure is simplistic in nature. We leverage our non-profit organization, Founders Athletics, to lower athletics fees wherever possible. The overhead to run a youth soccer club is not insignificant. Our organization doesn’t pad our fee structure and we take pride in being completely transparent. Our non-profit directors, admins, and coaches are all volunteer members of our local community and are not compensated. Player total cost fees are broken down into the following:
>> Club Fee [Billed Seasonally @ Registration]: Includes insurance, marketing & materials, resource & affiliate registration, government, website, and non-profit related fees. Current Club Fee is: $28.
>> Player Fee [Billed Seasonally @ Registration]: Includes equipment, facility reservations, and other related fees. Current Player Fee is: $80.
>> Jersey Fee [Billed Seasonally @ Registration]: Includes fee associated with a jersey. Current Jersey Fee is: $25.
If your player is selected for our Future Founders junior player development soccer academy, you will receive an offer letter that provides a detailed breakdown of fees.
Since our mission, first and foremost, is to promote youth athletics development within our community, we have established and made resources available to those players and their families who may need monetary support to participate. These scholarships are provided on a need basis and require substantiation before award. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if this situation applies to your athlete and family.
